Last chance to sign up for the Spring Equinox Zoom Class + a Magnolia Timelapse
Celebrate Spring by drawing nature together
Spring has finally started! To celebrate the equinox, here is a timelapse of a sketchbook page drawing magnolias. I saw a magnolia tree on one of my daily walks, which had just opened its blooms. From my reference pictures, I made this drawing.
When I was young, a magnolia tree was in our neighbour’s garden. Every year, it was one of the first things to bloom gloriously, so for me, a magnolia completely signifies springtime.
If you’d like to draw a bit more with me, join me for a live drawing session on Saturday! We’ll be drawing nature, of course:)
Saturday March 23rd 16:00 (4 PM) CEST Amsterdam Time (+replay)
I've preselected (nature-inspired) images within the theme of Spring Equinox for us to draw. We'll set a timer for every drawing and can chat about the materials we use, how to approach the drawings and more. If you don't like chatting, you can turn off your camera and/or microphone.
At the end, there's an option to share your work (tag me @lascarlatte on IG:), but there's no pressure. It's meant to be a fun and relaxing time.
This session is open to all and donation-based. Pay what you can! A portion of the sales will be donated to the Vogelbescherming (the Dutch National Bird Protection Foundation).
Materials used:
Derwent inktense pencil (bark)
Neocolor 2
Holbein pencils
Staedtler Lumograph Pencil (white)
Pentel Waterbrush
Clairefontaine Kraftpaper Sketchbook
I’m looking forward to our drawing session Saturday!
