Do you remember when you first fell in love? For me, the last time I fell in love was a few months ago. It was brown and cheap and felt like it had no potential, but it turned out to be a gem I couldn’t live without.

Painters often use underpainting (for instance, a colour like brown, red, or ochre) as a starting point for their artwork. Kraft paper works in a similar way.

I show you the paper and sketchbooks I bought and also a paper that I regret buying, and I’m swatching the paints and pencils in a sketchbook.
