What a lovely live session! Emma Carpendale and took a small stroll around the block and/or our garden and collected some beautiful nature things to draw.
These were the things I found:
Meadow geranium (Geranium pratense)
Geum (Geum rivale)
California poppy (Eschscholzia californica)
Granny’s Bonnet (Aquilegia vulgaris)
Red Campion (Silene dioica)
Emma found a beautiful dandelion seedhead, a lily of the valley, a cornflower, and some flowering chives.
Of course, there are lots of other things to collect besides flowers. For example, I found a broken bird’s egg on the pavement outside my house. Unfortunately, it was too fragile to take inside.

After the session, I put the flowers I’d picked into my flower press so they wouldn’t wilt and I could use them for inspiration later on.
